It's better to start over than to be stuck with an unhappy life. That's what I did.
After graduating high school, I attended college to study computer science. I had no clear direction on what I wanted to do in college, but I’ve always been driven to create. At the time, I felt computer science would provide an opportunity to create apps, games, websites, etc. However, after experiencing meticulous work that resulted in many error messages after putting one comma in the wrong place, I became unhappy and unmotivated. The way I would destress was to open Photoshop and create whatever came to mind.
After two years, I changed my major to design (and it’s a good thing because I couldn't pass calculus to save my life). I finally became motivated and happy again. Not only did switching majors establish what I wanted to do in college, but it helped me discover who I am.
Designing went from a hobby to a passion. Logo design, poster design, brand creation, editorial, UX/UI, Sports design, marketing, I love all of it. Learning how to do different styles of art and design has become what I do in my free time. I fell in love with design because it is a way to tell a story, convey a message, and show different forms of expression.
I have expanded my knowledge of design through my classes and personal research. Continuing to learn is something that makes what I do exciting.
